Dr.Elias Haddad was born on 15th February 1954. He embarked on his medical studies at the French Faculty of Medicine in Beyrouth, Lebanon. In 1976 he entered the Pitié-Salpétrière Faculty in Paris, completing his medical training in the Paris region.
Dr.Haddad’s junior doctor periods took place mainly at the Pitié-Salpétrière Faculty , his internship at the Hôpital de Dreux, obtaining his M.D. in 1979. Since then, Dr. Haddad has devoted himself to cancerology, obtaining a Radiotherapy Speciality Certificate in 1982 after a period of training at both the Institut Gustave Roussy and the Henri Mondor Hospital. He obtained his Competence in Cancerology qualification in 1984 along with an Inter-University Diploma in Cervical-Facial Cancerology, a Radiobiology DIU and the CESAM (Certificat d’Etudes Statistiques Appliquées à la Médecine).
In 1986 Dr.Haddad joined the medical staff at the Hartmann Radiotherapy Centre taking part in its development and evolution throughout the years since. Alongside these activities he also consulted and pursued clinical research work at the Henri Mondor Hospital until the mid 2000’s where he took part in the teaching of ORL (ENT) cancerology and the care of patients.
Dr. Haddad attaches great importance to the overall care of patients suffering from cancer. His fields of special interest are those of digestive, cervico-facial and lung tumours but he has equally considerable experience in urological tumours, in particular in prostate cancer. He took part in setting up the self-evaluation sessions for radiotherapists, the Cancerology Committee of the French Urology Association and has submitted numerous papers and communications on these subjects. He is regularly called upon to participate in expert debates and the evaluation of new therapies in this field.
In order to improve the treatment and care of patients in cancerology, Dr. Haddad has continually developed the pluri-disciplinary approach and for over 20 years, has chaired pluri-disciplinary meetings (staffs) in numerous hospitals.
Dr.Haddad is deeply involved and interested in the technological development of Radiotherapy which, over the last few years, has evolved so spectacularly. His first concern, however, continues to be the personal contact and overall care and humane treatment of his patients.
